Chasing the Dream with Weston March Author Spotlight

Image
Our March Author Spotlight is as special as the past two.  Carrie Weston is an urban fantasy author from the United Kingdom. She lives in a cottage in the Herefordshire countryside, writing books for her son.     "I have always wanted to be a writer but I never thought my dream would come true," said Weston. "I have had all kinds of jobs that I've done writing alongside without success, until a few years ago when I finally decided I needed to believe in myself and just press that scary Send/Publish button."     From a young age, Weston was drawn to adventures of the fantasy realm. She loved learning and reading about magical beings and used fiction for an escape from reality.       "I was the little girl imagining her fae Prince would appear and together we would win back his kingdom with magic," Weston recalled. "My mother always read me fairytales and made up stories to keep me and my brother entertained. I remember she was amazing at the di

Booking Through 2022: February BOTM

February was a productive month for me when it came to reading. I challenged myself to read as many romance books as I possibly could (my life schedule permitting) before Valentine's Day, which resulted in me spending my weekends doing pretty much nothing but getting lost in a book.     I read and reviewed 22 books in February and shared 20 of them across my platforms. The two I didn't share had really low ratings from me or had an extremely short review.  Out of those 22 books, I gave ll of them 5 heart ratings. The majority of the remaining books received 4 hearts from me.     The books I gave 5 hearts to were:     Teacher's Pet , by Pixie Chica (romance)     Heartstopper #4 , by Alice Oseman (Romance graphic novel)     Sweet with Heat , by Addison Cole (Romance)     A Royal Payne , by Pixie Chica (Romance)     A Shot with Prince Charming , by Maggie Dallen (Romance)     My Highschool Valentine Boyfriend , by Kylie Key (Romance)     Raising Hell , by S.K. Greg

March has come in like a lion so we can only assume it will go out like a lamb. I have been insanely busy lately with planning vendor events and preparing a new book for release, so this post is later than I wanted it to be. Riverr Ravenswood is our February Author Spotlight.      Riverr and I were introduced through another author, K.D. Hilt, and I'm ashamed to admit that I've had her books sitting unread on my kindle for almost a year. After reading Circle of Time , I can't believe I waited so long to read them.      Riverr Ravenswood is a young author from Bangalore, India. She's part of my author tribe on Facebook and has been writing her whole life. Her first published work was in 2020, so she's relatively new to the publishing world, but she's not letting her newness stop her from dominating the literature community.     "My life path has gone so off the planned course that it's not even funny," said Ravenswood when asked if she always
